The Yarning Press is an Aboriginal-led publishing and heritage preservation practice dedicated to protecting, restoring, and continuing community-held stories.
We work with families, custodians, Aboriginal organisations, historical groups, and communities to ensure fragile, out-of-print, and culturally significant stories are preserved with care, consent, and cultural authority. Our work is guided by cultural authority, consent, respect, and legacy, ensuring stories remain connected to the communities they come from and can be carried forward for future generations.

Community Comes First
Every project begins with listening, relationship-building, and respect for the people connected to the story. Cultural authority and decision-making remain with the community, family, organisation, or custodian throughout the process.
Stories Are Protected, Not Extracted
The Yarning Press treats publishing as cultural stewardship, not content production. Fragile books, manuscripts, and community-held materials are handled carefully so their voice, meaning, and legacy are preserved.
